Hate Crime Film Resource

This film resource has been created in partnership with Vibe Creative and funded by Big Lottery and Welsh Government.

The resource was officially launched by Jeff Cuthbert, Communities Minister, on Monday 14th September as part of national Hate Crime Awareness Week 2013. It will be made available as a DVD and online on VIMEO.

It includes 5 stories from people whose lives have been affected by hate crime. You can view the trailer on VIMEO and the following extracts from the resource are also available on Welsh Government's You Tube channel

In addition to the 5 case studies, the full resource features a short documentary-style film about hate crime covering all the protected characteristics, Dr Jasmin Tregidga speaking about the research, a short piece on "mate crime", and messages from the Police and Crown Prosecution Service.

The online resource is free to use, but we are asking organisations to register with us to receive the password so that we can monitor the dissemination and impact, and provide ongoing support.

We can also provide copies of the full resource on DVD for £5.00 (to cover P&P and admin).

Race Equality First would like to thank Big Lottery and Welsh Government for the funding that has made this valuable training and awareness-raising resource possible.

What is Discrimination?

Discrimination means treating someone worse than other people because of who they are.
